All-Inclusive, Non-Denominational Holiday Decorating

    We have a 9 foot tree in our main lobby decorated traditionally with red, green, gold and cardinals.

    We have a 7ft. in our outpatient lobby that is more of a whimsical tree.

    The ED has a 9 ft tree that is decorated in red and white candy cane theme.

    We have a few ponisettas that go on our outpatient registration desk and our switchboard, but those have decreased since the plexiglass barriers are still up:/.

    I do all of the decorating for the hospital.

    I work for a Catholic health system so we have Christmas trees and outdoor nativity scenes that usually go up right before Thanksgiving. Our Facilities folks are the ones who handle the decorations which come from an outside vendor (to ensure compliance with fire safety) who also sets everything up.

    Is your Auxiliary responsible for decorating your hospital for the holidays? We used to do a large tree in our main lobby, poinsettias at the elevator doors and garland throughout. Over the past few years, we have leaned more toward "winter elegance" and away from "Christmas" in hopes of including everyone. What kind of decorations are you planning?
