Description:  This session is an educational presentation that addresses what is appropriate and not appropriate when interacting with a person with a disability. The session will help participants become aware of respectful etiquette and proper language usage related to interactions with people with disabilities. A variety of etiquette tips for different disabilities will be discussed.

Speaker:

Julie Lasher is the Business Relations Specialist for the Southeast Region for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities.  Julie joined the agency in 2022.  Julie supports businesses by helping employers to create an inclusive workplace for their employees. In her role, Julie identifies job opportunities that match job seekers' goals and experience, she also provides services and resources to businesses that promote an inclusive and diverse workplace.  People with disabilities can be family members and friends, but also employees and job applicants. When our workplaces are inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds, including people with disabilities, everyone is valued for their contributions.
